Position Description:
This position will be responsible for scheduling all patient appointments and verifying insurance benefits before patient is seen in office.
Job Responsibilities:
· Answer incoming calls within a timely manner
· Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments accurately
· Obtains and documents in the patient's chart accurate patient demographic and insurance information from the patient or patient representative at the time appointment is scheduled
· Greet all callers in a professional manner
· Completes all necessary procedures in regards to scheduling, rescheduling and/or canceling appointments accurately
· Returns all calls in a timely manner associated with voicemail
· Works through and resolves patient issues immediately
· Demonstrate competency working in Allscripts PM system
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 2 years' experience as a Medical Appointment Scheduler in a Physician Office, preferably Orthopaedic
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of computers as we are a chartless office, using Allscripts PM and Exscribe EHR system
· Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written.
· Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
· Detail-oriented and a team-player
· Possess a positive attitude, self-starter with good customer service focus
· Ability to multi-task and solve problems
· Knowledge of Workers Comp, PIP, and all major Health Insurances
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
