What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Tech position at Orthopaedic Associates?
Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a Certified Surgical Techs to join our team working in a high volume, orthopaedic only, ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of surgical technologist experience. Orthopaedic skills are also a plus but not required. This is an outpatient-only facility, with hours worked Monday - Friday. This is a part-time position.
The Certified Surgical Tech (CST) will assist the orthopaedic surgeons and advance practice providers in the operating room at our Surgery Center. The CST will prepare the operating room by maintaining a sterile field and making sure that all surgical instruments are prepared and ready throughout the surgery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist the surgical team by maintaining a sterile operating room
- Set up the operating room for surgical procedures
- Monitor and control the environment, adhering to Universal Precautions
- Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites, transporting patients, positioning patients on the table, and covering patients with sterile surgical drapes
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing appropriate instruments, providing sterile items, holding retractors, and cutting
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program required. 1-2 years of experience preferred. Orthopaedic skills are a plus.
