OrthoNY is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at our Executive Woods Surgery Center. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring a seamless patient experience before and after surgical procedures, delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Monday-Friday, no weekends, holidays or on-call!

Responsibilities
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery;
- Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct;
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure;
- Assess patients’ post-operative condition;
- Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress to ensure patient is meeting discharge criteria;
- Document all findings in patient files;
- Answer patient questions to ensure patient comfort;
- Monitor patients for condition changes, report any changes to physician;
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies;
- Gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care;
- Other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
- Current unrestricted NYS RN license;
- Minimum of 2 years previous PACU or critical care experience strongly preferred;
- Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients and peers;
- Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping flow to reasonable time frame in post-operative care;
- Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative nursing;
- Capable of decision making when applicable.
- Schedules are Monday through Friday; No weekends, holidays, or on-call.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle to travel as needed
Salary : $38 - $55
