Job Summary: The daily tasks of a x-ray technologist require precise work and attention to detail as well as adherence to strict safety procedures. Many times, physicians will confer with technologists in the evaluation process of a patient’s condition. Although x-ray technologists are required to be knowledgeable in all terminology related with radiography, anatomy, pathology, etc., a professional technologist will also possess strong interpersonal skills. A large part of the job requires giving instructions to patients who may be a bit nervous with the various radiography procedures. Technologist will give straight-forward instructions as well as foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients.

Education/Experience: Minimum of post-secondary training and completion of a certificate program or an Associates’ degree and graduated from an accredited school. |

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, customers and the general public.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide on all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret insurance co-pays and deductibles. |

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Computer Skills: Ability to type 45 WPM, basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Office, and experience using or ability to learn and comprehend computer programs. |

Certificates and Licenses: LMRT and Texas State license obtained through the Texas Medical Board. |

Work Environment: Position works in a climate-controlled office environment with little or no potential interference from elements or sound. |

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Over 2/3 of time will be spent standing. 1/3 or more of time worked will be sitting, using hands and fingers to type or handle paper. The position requires the ability to reach with hands or arms. Salary : $20 - $24
