We are growing our clinical team and seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join Dr. Hunt in delivering outstanding care across both clinical and surgical settings.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Physician Assistant will work closely with Dr. Hunt to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients in both the clinic and the operating room. This is a unique opportunity to expand your skills into advanced neuromuscular therapy through NeuFit treatment training, positioning you at the forefront of orthopaedic recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Duties
• Evaluate and manage orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients in outpatient clinic settings
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, labs, and other studies
• Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other in-office procedures under physician supervision
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care and documentation
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery protocols
• Coordinate care with physical therapy, radiology, and other specialists
Surgical Assistance
• Serve as first assist in orthopaedic surgical procedures alongside Dr. Hunt
• Provide intraoperative support including tissue handling, retraction, wound closure, and hemostasis
• Prepare patients for surgery, ensure proper positioning, and assist with pre-operative flow.
• Write post-operative orders, manage immediate post-surgical care, and communicate with surgical teams
• Monitor patients during recovery and address any post-surgical concerns or complications
NeuFit Treatment Training
• Undergo comprehensive, hands-on training in the NeuFit neuromuscular electrical stimulation system
• Learn to administer and supervise NeuFit protocols for muscle re-education, pain reduction, and accelerated recovery
• Apply NeuFit therapy to appropriate clinic patients as an adjunct to traditional orthopaedic care
• Collaborate with the care team to integrate NeuFit outcomes into overall patient treatment plans
Administrative & Team Collaboration
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and documentation in compliance with practice standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current NCCPA certification (PA-C)
• Active Kentucky Physician Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
• DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Current BLS/ACLS certification
• Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, orthopaedic conditions, and clinical assessment
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced clinical and surgical environment
