Los Angeles, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/13/2026

We are seeking a seasoned, compassionate Lead Medical Assistant to join our boutique concierge orthopaedic practice in Marina del Rey, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. This is a unique dual-role opportunity: you will serve as the clinical backbone of our high-touch, patient-first office while also providing operational support for the float MA team at OrthoLegal Group.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, upscale clinical environment, brings strong orthopaedic knowledge, and can seamlessly transition between direct patient care and behind-the-scenes operations management.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Patient Care

  • Supervise and coordinate daily clinical activities across orthopaedic outpatient and inpatient settings, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
  • Lead patient intake procedures including scheduling, collecting comprehensive medical histories, vital signs, and performing initial assessments.
  • Collect patient payments and coordinate imaging orders efficiently and professionally.
  • Support physicians with procedures including medication administration, basic wound care, and casting in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately, including documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
  • Oversee surgical preparation for patients: verify consent forms, collect pre-operative payments, and coordinate with surgery centers and hospitals.
  • Deliver exceptional concierge-level patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and coordinating follow-up care or specialist referrals (e.g., orthotics, internal medicine, neurology ).
  • Maintain clinical supplies inventory, ensure equipment functionality, and uphold infection control standards across all care areas.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with concierge-focused clinics to expand referral networks and drive patient volume

OrthoLegal Group — Float MA Operations Support

  • Manage inventory for the OrthoLegal Group float Medical Assistant team, including coordinating supply deliveries and restocking across sites.
  • Send out required paperwork and documentation to field MAs and partner sites in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and manage site-level inventory to ensure float MAs have the tools and materials needed to operate effectively.
  • Serve as a point of contact and operational resource for float team logistics, escalating issues as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or supervise clinical staff or peers.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and standard clinical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities with grace under pressure.

Preferred & Highly Encouraged

  • Experience in a concierge or boutique medical practice — the white-glove standard you bring is a major differentiator.
  • Orthopaedic experience strongly preferred; casting experience is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with surgical scheduling, pre-op coordination, and surgery center workflows.
  • Experience with ICD-10 coding and insurance/billing coordination.
  • Background in operations, inventory management, or supporting a multi-site clinical team.

What We Offer

  • A boutique, relationship-driven practice environment where your contributions are recognized and valued.
  • The opportunity to work alongside a skilled, patient-centered orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon.
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • A supportive, professional team culture that prioritizes clinical excellence and compassionate care.
