Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Front Office Assistant to join our orthopedic surgeon office. You will be handling the schedules and patients of 6 “Top Doctors.” The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative tasks, patient service, multi-tasking, and a solid understanding of electronic health records (EHR) systems. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Coordination: Greet patients, manage the front desk, schedule appointments, and handle phone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- EHR Management: Enter, update, and maintain patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all records.
- Insurance Verification: Understand and explain health insurance benefits, with a particular emphasis on out-of-network benefits. Be willing to assist patients with insurance questions and pre-authorizations.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general office duties including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing correspondence. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
- Office Support: Set up exam rooms. Assist the surgeon and medical staff with various administrative tasks and DME as needed. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a private-held practice.
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience and fitting preferred.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, particularly eClinicalWorks and PracticeEHR.
- Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of health insurance benefits, especially out-of-network benefits.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with experience handling patient inquiries and resolving issues.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance companies.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling patient information and insurance details.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in G-suite and technologically savvy
