Medical Assistant Lead, OPA University Lake Building - Anchorage, Alaska - Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Non-certified: $54,080 - $76,440 annual salary (DOE)
Certified: $56,160 - $78,520 annual salary (DOE)
This position will receive a $500.00 SIGNING BONUS after 90 days of full-time employment

The primary purpose of this leadership position is to optimize the clinical team and achieve the highest standard of care by ensuring the most effective use of resources and providers. The Medical Assistant Lead evaluates, develops, and directs a multi-disciplinary staff within a larger orthopedic practice.

Representative duties
Ensure smooth operation of the clinical team and serve as a liaison between providers and support staff
Evaluate patients to determine appropriate provider and urgency, and assist providers with patient care
Collaborate with Walk-In Clinic and Call Center to expedite patient care, referrals, and triage
Lead monthly strategic and development meetings with team and implement new concepts
Interview, hire, and lead new staff, acting as a role model for established standards, and perform development reviews for members of clinical team
Knowledge and skill requirements

Understanding of leadership and team principles
Able to understand medical charts and diagnoses and coding for billing purposes
Able to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressure
Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a variety of patient care teams
Skill in operating a personal computer using a variety of software applications and EHR
