Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our dynamic orthopedic practice. This role involves working alongside a joint replacement surgeon in both clinic and operating room settings, while also supporting general orthopedic care in the clinic (walk-in patients with acute injuries).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthopedic surgeon in the operating room, primarily with joint replacement procedures (hip, knee, and shoulder cases)
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients in the clinic setting
- Independently assess and treat walk-in patients presenting with acute orthopedic injuries (e.g., fractures, sprains, dislocations)
- Perform procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, splinting, and casting
- Order and interpret imaging and diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and ancillary services to ensure high-quality patient care
- Educate patients on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and injury prevention
Qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with active state licensure
- Prior experience assisting in orthopedic surgery, preferably joint replacement, strongly preferred
- Comfortable managing a wide range of general orthopedic conditions independently
- Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to efficiently manage both scheduled and walk-in patient workflows
