Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily service operations, support the service department staff, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong background in automotive repair and management, with the ability to handle various technical and customer service responsibilities. The Assistant Service Manager will play a key role in maintaining efficient workflow, promoting upselling opportunities, and ensuring quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations of the service department, including scheduling and workflow management.
- Support technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, alignments, and auto body repairs.
- Ensure all services are performed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Promote upselling of additional services and vehicle accessories to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively about repair needs and estimates.
- Assist with auto estimating and service writing to ensure accurate documentation of repairs and services performed.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately during transactions.
- Support inventory management for parts and supplies related to automotive repair services.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the sales team on automobile sales initiatives when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, air brakes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake repair.
- Experience working with service technicians and understanding automotive repair processes such as auto estimating and service writing.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in auto sales or automobile sales is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: $44, $70,000.00 per year
