Job Summary
The Groundskeeper performs a variety of semi-skilled grounds maintenance duties to ensure that district campuses and athletic facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for caring for lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas; operating and maintaining a wide range of grounds equipment; assisting with irrigation and sprinkler system repairs; and preparing athletic fields and stadium areas for school and community events. The Groundskeeper may also assist with minor maintenance tasks, support special projects, and help coordinate or oversee landscaping activities as assigned. This position plays a key role in maintaining an attractive and functional outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of experience as a Groundskeeper in the Oroville Union High School District with progressively responsible experience, supplemented preferably by specialized training or ability in gardening, landscaping, arbor culture, grounds or playfield design, mechanical equipment maintenance or repair; OR three years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of school-related groundskeeper duties. California Driver’s License (required by the first day of service.); First Aid Certificate is preferred; Applicator’s License preferred.
Must be able to pass DOJ background check, Drug Screen and physical.
