Purpose of the Position:
Package finished products for shipment and assist the Machine Operator to meet production needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor materials on moving conveyor belt, remove excess materials from product using hand tools
- Assembly boxes for shipment as needed, package and weigh products for shipment according to customer requirements
- Assist the machine operator in operating the machine
- Safely operate forklift as needed to move material
- Read and comprehend instructions and following established procedures
- Keep workstation clean and organized
- Cross train in other areas as needed and other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use hand tools (i.e. calipers, digital scales, screw driver, blades etc.)
- Detailed oriented, organized, and motivated
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to understand spoken and written English
- Previous Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work overtime and needed
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for 12 plus hours daily
- Ability to use both hand, wrists, and arms with continual motion
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, and reach objects
- Ability to lift 30 plus pounds repeatedly and up to 50 occasionally
- Ability to bend, stoop and walk frequently
Working Conditions
Temperature controlled facility, loud machinery
Personal Protective Equipment Required
Safety glasses at all times, safety gloves, Steel-toe safety shoes or boots, ear plus as necessary
