Orono Public Schools is seeking degreed professionals and licensed teachers to tutor elementary students in a variety of subjects. One hour tutoring sessions are offered on-campus during before or after school hours. This part-time position is a highly rewarding role, focused on providing personalized academic support, building confidence, and fostering a positive attitude toward learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide focused, individualized instruction and academic support to elementary students across a variety of subjects.
- Create a positive, patient, and engaging learning atmosphere that motivates students and builds their self-esteem.
- Provide responsive and clear communication to families regarding scheduling and student progress.
- Communicate with district teachers and staff when appropriate, to best respond to student needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- A genuine enjoyment of working with young children
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use technology as an instructional tool
- College degree required
- Teaching license preferred
- Previous experience in a tutoring or teaching role is a plus
COMPENSATION
$35/hour
