The Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce is an independent, membership-based business organization dedicated to strengthening the local business community and improving the economic vitality of Oro Valley and the greater Southern Arizona region.

The Chamber is a nonpartisan organization. While we engage in public policy and advocacy on issues affecting businesses, employees are expected to remain politically neutral when representing the Chamber and to approach community issues professionally, respectfully, and from a business-focused perspective.


Position Summary:

The Membership Success Manager serves as the primary relationship manager for Chamber members and is responsible for ensuring members receive exceptional value from their Chamber investment.


This position focuses on building meaningful relationships with members, understanding their goals and challenges, helping them connect to the right Chamber resources, and ensuring they receive value.


The Membership Success Manager will lead member retention efforts, oversee the Chamber's collaborative groups, and play a key role in the transition to a new tiered membership model.


Success in this role is measured by strong member relationships, member satisfaction, engagement, and retention. The successful candidate will be comfortable working toward measurable goals and taking ownership of membership retention outcomes.


Where You'll Spend Your Time:

This is not a desk job.


While administrative work and member follow-up are important parts of the role, much of your time will be spent building relationships throughout the community. Successful candidates enjoy getting out of the office, visiting businesses, attending Chamber events, participating in collaborative groups, supporting ribbon cuttings, and representing the Chamber at partner and community events.


Chamber events and community engagement often occur outside of traditional business hours. Candidates should expect several early morning or evening commitments each month, along with a limited number of weekend events throughout the year. In return, we offer a great deal of flexibility and encourage our team to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Key Responsibilities:

Member Retention & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing Chamber members.
  • Conduct regular outreach through phone calls, emails, meetings, and business visits.
  • Build strong relationships with members and maintain a pulse on their needs, goals, and concerns.
  • Identify members at risk of non-renewal and develop strategies to increase retention.
  • Help members maximize the value of their membership by connecting them to relevant programs, events, sponsorships, and resources.
  • Track member engagement and proactively re-engage members when participation declines.
  • Own Chamber retention goals and renewal performance.

Membership Strategy & Growth

  • Lead the Chamber's transition to a tiered membership model.
  • Educate members on available benefits and membership options.
  • Help members identify the membership level that best aligns with their goals and needs.
  • Identify opportunities for membership upgrades and increased engagement.
  • Work closely with the Chamber team to ensure a positive member experience from recruitment through renewal.

Collaborative Groups & Committees

  • Manage and support Chamber collaborative groups and committees.
  • Coordinate meetings, communications, agendas, and participant engagement.
  • Work with volunteer leaders to ensure groups remain active, productive, and valuable to participants.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen participation and member connections through collaborative programming.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records within the Chamber's CRM system.
  • Monitor retention, engagement, and membership trends.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to Chamber leadership.
  • Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

Strong candidates may come from backgrounds such as customer success, account management, relationship management, membership organizations, nonprofit leadership, hospitality, sales, community relations, business development, or other people-focused professions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation includes a base salary plus performance incentives tied to member retention, engagement, and growth. Successful candidates can expect total annual compensation generally ranging from $40,000 to $60,000.
