Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sign Fabricator/Welder at Ornamental Post and Panel in Pineville, NC. We are looking for a highly skilled sign fabricator experienced in aluminum sign manufacturing to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating custom aluminum signage. You will work closely with shop drawings to cut, shape, and weld metal components. We deal exclusively with aluminum. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in clean welds, accurate measurements, and ability to fabricate from drawings. Competitive pay based on experience. Set hours M-F, day shift 7:30am-4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop/engineered drawings, and technical specifications for architectural signage.
- Fabricate custom signage, decorative traffic control structures/components, and other architectural signage.
- Perform high-quality aluminum welding (MIG) to assemble signage components.
- Measure, cut, bend, and grind metal materials to exact specifications using high-end shop equipment.
- Ensure all welds are clean, structurally sound, and prepared for painting and finishing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Ability to work independently
- Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding.
- Must be able to pass a welding and fabrication test.
- Must have experience welding aluminum and manufacturing signage.
- Proficient in using standard metal shop equipment (saws, drill presses, grinders, brakes, shears, etc.).
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform precise shop math.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing work within specifications.
- Forklift certification or experience
