Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian and Event Set Up professional to ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and preparation of our facilities for daily operations and special events. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment by performing cleaning duties, custodial tasks, and event setup activities. Your proactive approach will help create a positive experience for staff, visitors, and event attendees alike.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
- Conduct detailed floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance
- Set up event spaces by arranging furniture, equipment, decorations, and supplies according to event specifications
- Ensure all facilities are properly maintained by performing janitorial and custodial duties regularly
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks as needed to support facility upkeep
- Maintain cleanliness standards by following established procedures for trash removal, sanitation, and restocking supplies
- Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs or reporting larger issues promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within commercial or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care (buffing, stripping), and facilities maintenance practices
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning products
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery safely
- Familiarity with event setup procedures including furniture arrangement and equipment placement
- Basic residential painting skills are a plus but not required
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and cleanliness protocols
