Orleans Central Supervisory Union (OCSU) is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Director of Student Support Services to join our team for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This full-time position works under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services and serves as a liaison with faculty, staff, independent contractors, and both internal and external agencies. The Assistant Director plays a key role in ensuring high-quality services for students, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. This is a 210 day, administrative position.
Primary Responsibilities
Special Education & Compliance
- Assist the Director with monitoring and ensuring Special Education compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and local procedures.
- Collaborate with the Director to plan and coordinate Extended School Year (ESY) services.
- Support the Director in ensuring all special education staff positions are filled; assist in the hiring and onboarding process.
- Mentor and support district special education case managers and special education teachers.
- Ensure effective and accurate data collection for MTSS, RTI, EST processes, and mandates Ensure effective, accurate, and compliant data collection, progress monitoring, and reporting for MTSS, RTI, EST, and special education processes, with particular responsibility for Tier 3 intervention data and special education services. Collaborate with the Director of Learning to ensure alignment with Act 173 requirements, including the use of data to inform instructional decision-making, eligibility considerations, and ongoing program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the district Assessment and Evaluation team on all initial special education referrals.
- Oversee the district’s Section 504 team, ensuring compliance and consistency across schools.
- Serve as the McKinney-Vento Homelessness Coordinator for OCSU.
- Assist the Director in planning and providing professional development for all special education staff.
- Behavior threat assessment and mental health services coordinator.
- Compile data and assist with the preparation, development, and maintenance of budgets in collaboration with the Director of Student Support Services.
- Notify the Director promptly when procedural or documentation errors are identified.
