Responsibilities:
Program Administration, Curriculum Development, and Evaluation:
Lead the development and revision of nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in nursing education.
- Collaborate with faculty, clinical partners, and stakeholders to identify emerging trends, advancements, and evidence-based practices in nursing education.
- Ensure curriculum reflects the needs of the profession, evolving healthcare environment, and diverse student population.
- Develop and implement curriculum evaluation processes to assess student learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Establish policies and procedures for program administration, student selection, progression, and graduation.
- Assist in the development and updating of student handbook.
- Oversee program budget, resource allocation, and procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
Attend and support faculty meetings, committees, and school meetings.
Faculty Development and Support:
Provide leadership and guidance to faculty in delivering effective and innovative nursing education.
- Develop and implement faculty development programs to enhance teaching skills, curriculum design, assessment strategies, and instructional technology integration.
- Foster a culture of scholarly activity, research, and evidence-based teaching practices among faculty.
- Promote interprofessional collaboration and facilitate faculty engagement in professional development activities.
- Assist in the development and updating of the faculty handbook.
Conduct regular faculty evaluations, provide feedback, and support faculty in meeting their performance goals.
Student Success and Support:
Collaborate with career services department to ensure comprehensive support services that facilitate student success, retention, and graduation.
- Oversee the development and implementation of academic support programs, including tutoring, mentoring, and remediation initiatives.
- Monitor student progress and implement interventions to address academic challenges and promote student engagement.
Promote a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and cultural competence to support student learning and success.
Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure nursing programs comply with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing organizations' guidelines.
- Collaborate with accreditation bodies and participate in self-study processes, site visits, and the preparation of reports.
- Stay current with regulatory changes, educational standards, and accreditation requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
Coordinate and support faculty in maintaining documentation and evidence required for accreditation and regulatory reviews.
Educational Technology Integration:
Promote the integration of educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and educational technology specialists to implement effective technology-enhanced learning strategies.
Stay abreast of emerging educational technologies and instructional design principles to inform decision-making and promote innovation in nursing education.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions, librarian, and career services, to facilitate seamless coordination of nursing programs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clinical partners, professional nursing organizations, and community stakeholders to enhance clinical experiences and foster collaboration opportunities.
- Represent the Orlando School of Nursing in relevant professional organizations, conferences, and events.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field (Ph.D., DNP, or Ed.D. preferred).
- Current and active Florida registered nursing license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing, including nursing education, teaching and curriculum development.
- Strong knowledge of nursing education standards, accreditation processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in nursing program evaluation, assessment, and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Experience in faculty development and support.
