Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable supporting both clinical and procedural workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation
- Prepare patients for interventional procedures (e.g., injections, nerve blocks)
- Assist providers during procedures as needed
- Perform injections (IM, SQ) as directed by provider
- Sterilize and prepare procedure rooms and equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR (e.g., Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) or similar systems)
Administrative/Support Duties:
- Manage patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Handle prior authorizations and referrals for procedures/imaging
- Coordinate with front desk and billing teams
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering
Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Preferred
- 1 year experience in a clinical setting (pain management, orthopedics, or spine preferred)
- Experience with EMR systems (preferably Modernizing Medicine (ModMed))
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and injection protocols
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Preferred:
- Experience in Interventional Pain Management or Orthopedics
- Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding basics
- Fluoroscopy room experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
