Orlando Eye Associates is a private optometry practice in Central Florida that strives to deliver the best patient experience, while personifying a family work culture with our team. We are looking for an experienced optician, licensed or unlicensed, with excellent communication skills, who is flexible and able to multitask, while having the confidence to maintain our flourishing optical.
The ideal candidate will feel comfortable guiding patients through the optical experience of selecting the best glasses for their lifestyle and every day needs. This means our optician will be responsible for assisting the patient with frame and/or lens selections, fittings, and dispensing of glasses. The ideal candidate will have a positive, encouraging, and well-mannered personality. They should have a skillset with optical problem solving, be driven to reach productivity goals, while ensuring our standard of distinction in the community is upheld.
Job responsibilities may include:
- Familiar with our optical inventory and products to assist with appropriate selections for the patient
- Excellence with sales by guiding the patient on frame and/or lens selections
- Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Skilled in fitting, adjusting, and dispensing glasses
- Perform insurance verification of benefits, as well as insurance submissions via online lab platforms
- Maintenance of patient records
- Frame and stock oversight
- Other tasks as requested
Candidate Qualifications:
- Great interpersonal and customer service (patient care) skills
- Knowledge of optical products and insurance coverages
- Team Player
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Computer literate and EHR or practice management software experience is a plus
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Attention to detail
- Prior optical industry experience
- A willingness to gain optical knowledge and adapt to varying situations
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the optical field, including optical sales
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Our office provides competitive compensation, which is dependent upon the candidate's experience.
