Customer Service Representative – Health Plan (HAP)
Location: 21000 E 12 Mile Rd, Suite 100, St. Clair Shores, MI
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Interview: 30-minute phone interview with Hiring Manager
Job Summary:
Provide high-quality customer service support for HAP members by resolving inquiries, educating members on benefits and coverage, and ensuring timely issue resolution. Support enrollment activities, service recovery, and promote a positive member experience.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to member inquiries via phone, mail, and in person
- Research, investigate, and resolve inquiries, complaints, and appeals
- Educate members on health plan benefits, policies, and procedures
- Document all interactions accurately and maintain HIPAA compliance
- Monitor cases and follow up to ensure timely resolution
- Collaborate with internal departments and providers
- Identify service trends and recommend process improvements
- Assist with enrollment periods and departmental projects
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent customer service or call center experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of HMO/PPO/POS plans and claims billing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PC systems
- Dependable, professional, and customer-focused
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
Education:
- Associate’s Degree or 4 years of related customer service experience
- Medical Terminology course required within 6 months of hire
- Epic experience preferred, not required
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
