Orion Educational Training Center has an opening for a certified teacher who will coordinate the diploma completion program at the Shawnee County Jail. Responsibilities:
- Act as primary liaison between Orion and the Shawnee County Jail staff
- Facilitate online coursework for students in coordination with district requirements.
- Maintain a safe and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
- Monitor, evaluate, and communicate student progress.
- Follow and enforce policies and regulations for both ORION and Shawnee County Jail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Kansas licensure, secondary required
- Experience: Working with non-traditional learners preferred
- Technology Skills: file management, Learning Management System operation
- Other Skills: Communication, organization, self-regulation, problem solving, creative and independent thinking
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
