With approximately 50 employees and a growing technology footprint, OCS operates at the intersection of operations, compliance, and data-driven collections.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Director of Technology Operations to own the technology and data infrastructure that powers our collections platform. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an operationally complex environment and can bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. You will oversee all back-office data processes, lead vendor integrations, drive automation initiatives, and manage a critical software platform conversion. You will be a key member of our senior leadership team and will work directly with the CEO.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Operations & Transfers
- Own all inbound and outbound data file processes, including placement files, payment files, and demographic data loads
- Manage SFTP, API-based, and secure file exchange protocols with clients and partners
- Ensure data integrity across all transfers, with documented QA and exception handling
- Oversee data conversion processes as we onboard new portfolios, asset classes, and client relationships
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain operational reports for leadership, clients, and internal teams
- Build dashboards and metrics that surface performance across liquidation, agent productivity, and portfolio health
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from the executive team and institutional clients
Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across back-office workflows to reduce manual effort and errors
- Partner with operations leadership to map current-state processes and drive efficiency gains
- Evaluate and deploy tools that improve throughput and reduce operational overhead
Vendor & Technology Partner Management
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key platform and technology vendors
- Manage integration roadmaps, escalate technical issues, and hold vendors accountable to SLAs
- Evaluate new technology partnerships and provide recommendations to leadership
Technology Initiatives & Platform Projects
- Lead strategic technology projects and platform initiatives from scoping through implementation
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across operations, compliance, and vendor partners to keep initiatives on track
- Serve as the internal project owner ensuring business continuity throughout technology transitions
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 5 years of experience in technology operations, IT management, or a similar role
- Background in debt collection, financial services, fintech, or a data-intensive regulated industry strongly preferred
- Proficiency in SQL or similar tools for data querying, transformation, and reporting
- Hands-on experience managing SFTP/API-based file exchanges and data pipeline processes
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to a software platform migration
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent initiatives
- Clear, professional communicator — comfortable interfacing with vendors, clients, and executive leadership
Preferred
- Familiarity with enterprise collection platforms and back-office systems used in the receivables industry
- Familiarity with AI-powered platforms and how they are applied in collections or financial services workflows — strongly preferred
- Understanding of FDCPA, state-level compliance requirements, or regulated collections environments
- Experience with RPA or scripting-based automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
- Prior experience at a collection agency, debt buyer, or collections technology company
