General Summary

The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and profitably growing our existing base business with a defined list of chain accounts, as well as securing new business with defined new accounts. Customer responsibilities will likely include a cross section of both strategic and transactional business. Leading in collaboration with marketing and effectively managing cross functional resources (marketing, product development, supply chain, and insights) is critical for success. The Sales Manager must be able to think and lead strategically, both internally and externally, linking strategies between organizations and influencing all parties/functions on joint initiatives to deliver business objectives.


Principal Accountabilities

1. Think and lead strategically, in collaboration with marketing and cross functional team, to link internal and external strategies, and influence all parties on initiatives needed to deliver joint business objectives

2. Prioritize, aggressively pursue and secure new scaled business with new customers, to deliver AOP objectives

3. Effectively manage and grow existing business/expand portfolio with existing customers, accelerating both top and bottom line


Job Complexity

  • Must be able to effectively interact with wide range of levels within customers
  • Must be able to think and lead strategically, identifying opportunities, developing plan, influencing, and implementing
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate with marketing and lead cross functional partners
  • Must possess high level of executive selling and negotiations skills
  • Moderate level of administrative responsibility
  • Must have sold product to major retail chains directly
  • Must have managed a sales team


Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-5 years related experience required
  • Possess excellent selling and negotiation skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Independent, self starter
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to think and lead strategically
  • Possess excellent listening and problem solving skills.
  • Possess excellent time management skills
