SUMMARY

This position is responsible for all aspects of eyelet production for both internal and external customer requirements. This position will be responsible for managing inventory, releasing work orders, forming, cleaning, transfer press/ rolling operations, welding, machine setup, tooling inspection, quality inspection, and material reclaim.  The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to recognize and adjust to changing priorities, Successful eyelet technicians have excellent technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills. This team member must be flexible to changes necessary to meet the business conditions.
 
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety
  • Adhere to OC and Plant specific requirements when properly handling, metal.
  • Engage in safety programs
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Recognize, report and correct safety hazards upon identification

Administration
  • Complete transfer transactions for work orders/ purchase order material
  • Manage inventory supply for processing and finished products
  • Complete and record all quality data
  • Maintain and initiate tooling orders
  • Document process improvements to enhance standard work

Machine Operation
  • Precision machine/tooling setup (Daily)
  • Ensure correct tooling setup and alignments for several machines simultaneously
  • Transfer press/ rolling mill operation
  • TIG welding
  • Basic equipment PM
  • Tool sharpening, grinding, polishing, etc.
  • Maintain tooling/equipment standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve setup / product quality issues

Quality
  • Follow all process controls and provide documentation
  • Conduct parts cleaning and vibratory cleaning operations
  • Inspect and ensure compliance of all products characteristics
  • Independent identify abnormalities and find resolution

Inventory
  • Ensure all material is tracked and accounted for through the entire process
  • Conduct daily/ weekly/ monthly cleaning schedules of all equipment
  • Ensure eyelet inventories are maintained within allowable targets and meet production quantity requirements

Regular Attendance
All other duties as assigned or needed
  • Flexible to changes needed to meet business demands
  • Willing to rotate between 1st and 2nd shifts as needed or accept a 2nd shift assignment
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

EXPERIENCE
  • 2 plus years manufacturing environment experience
  • Machine operating/setup experience preferred
