Material Handler Job Description
At Orica, we're shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies. As a Material Handler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials at our transload facility in Upton, WY.
- Operate material handling equipment and perform physical labor, including sledgehammer work in hot conditions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Work at elevated heights to maintain paddle chain conveyors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading products between railcars and trucks using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Recording all product movements in the system immediately upon completion to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
- Accurately documenting shipping weights, batch IDs, and truck IDs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including using a sledgehammer.
