About The Role - Team Leader (Wise NC)
The Team Leader leads a team in the quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times, working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, Shotfirers and Site Supervisor and managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.

About The Role - Team Leader (Wise NC)
The Team Leader leads a team in the quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times, working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, Shotfirers and Site Supervisor and managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.
What You Will Be Doing
- Pro-actively address safety concerns and escalate to next manager as needed.
- Provides information for reporting any injuries/accidents immediately.
- Leads safety meetings and trainings regularly.
- Ability to communicate safety procedures of all equipment including PPE.
- Identify production goals for each shift including Bulk and Package Mix.
- Ensure teams are working efficiently to achieve production goals.
- Provide coaching and training on a continuous basis.
- Ability to provide hands on assistance in the production process as needed.
- Reliable maintenance and regulatory compliance of Orica’s equipment
- Managing the resource scheduling
- Managing the inventory
- Supervising site administration submissions
- Creating, managing, and submitting Orica Safety, Health, Environment and Security monthly reporting
- Managing the business, budget, and head count planning.
- Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately
- Participates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings
- Undertakes all and any necessary training for Operations, SHEC and site specific requirements
- Maintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role
- Ensures all emergency equipment and First Aid kits are complete
- Assists in the management of Audit actions
- Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimization and control
- Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS.
- Maintains required House Keeping standards
- Notifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance
- Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production
- Maintains professional relationships within Orica and with customers
- Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor
- At least 2 years of management experience.
- Must be able to manage the business, budget, and head count planning.
- Blasting experience is nice to have.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Organization, attentive to detail, time management and quality control.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field is nice to have, but you must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent

- Salary $68,100 - $95,340
