Cannabis Packaging Technician

Position: Packaging Technician

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Packaging Technician is primarily responsible for the weighing, filling, packaging, capping, and labeling activities related to cannabis product manufacturing in accordance with company SOPs and Connecticut state regulations. This role ensures product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance and reports directly to the Packaging Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh, fill, cap, seal, and label cannabis products using manual, automatic, and semi-automatic equipment.
• Package finished goods for bulk storage or prepare them for shipment.
• Accurately record all inventory in the company’s tracking system in compliance with Connecticut cannabis regulations.
• Build shipping boxes and maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary packaging area throughout the day and at shift end.
• Follow all SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a packaging, manufacturing, or production environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow written SOPs and detailed work instructions
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently in a production-driven environment with daily output targets
• Commitment to workplace safety, PPE usage, and compliance protocols

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Must meet all legal and company-specific requirements to work in the cannabis industry
• Must pass a criminal background check if required by state regulations
• Reliable transportation required

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, reaching, and lifting
• Comfortable working at heights and using ladders on an occasional basis
• Ability to work a full-time schedule, including occasional overtime as needed

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Packaging Supervisor
