We’re expanding our cultivation operations in Lexington, Kentucky, and are seeking an experienced Head Grower to lead our cultivation team and uphold the high standards Oregrown is known for.
Position Overview
The Head Grower will oversee all aspects of cannabis cultivation, including propagation, plant growth, health, harvest, post-harvest production, and team leadership. This role is ideal for someone passionate about plant science, highly organized, and ready to build and guide a high-performing cultivation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of cannabis cultivation from clone to harvest
- Oversee post-harvest production, including curing, trimming, storage, and packaging
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve cultivation SOPs
- Lead, train, mentor, and support the cultivation / post harvest team
- Manage environmental controls, irrigation, fertigation, and IPM programs
- Monitor plant health and respond quickly to issues
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with Kentucky regulations and Oregrown standards
- Collaborate with leadership on production planning, yields, and strain strategy
- Support facility improvements and contribute to innovation in cultivation practices
Qualifications
- 3 years of cannabis cultivation experience (required)
- Prior experience managing or leading a cultivation team
- Prior experience in post harvest production; dry room, storage, and trim team management and quality control of finished product
- Strong understanding of plant nutrition, pest management, and environmental systems
- METRC experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000/year
