Regional Nurse Consultant (RDCO)- Oregon – Skilled Nursing
Must reside in Oregon or Washington
Must have prior DON or Regional level experience in Skilled Nursing!
Travel – significant travel based on home office location.
Primary responsibilities include the management of ongoing clinical operations within assigned facilities, overseeing the communities’ continuous quality improvement functions, mentoring and training community Directors of Nursing, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality outcomes. Consult regularly with centers regarding resident care, State and Federal surveys, regulatory compliance, and clinical services. Function temporarily as Interim DON as needed. Serve as part of a Regional disciplinary team designed to provide top-level area.
You will:
- Provide overall support for the nursing and clinical departments for multiple skilled nursing facilities within your assigned region.
- Assess and evaluate clinical services in assigned communities to identify areas of clinical improvement.
- Identifies clinical development opportunities and informs the community and regional leadership about clinical “best practices.”
- Develop a proactive consultation/visitation schedule based on facility risk and clinical goals.
- Responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing, Administrator, facility clinical team, and Regional team through guidance, education, mentorship, and teamwork.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies, manuals, objectives, and philosophies. Implement, train, and mentor on policies and best clinical practices.
- Work in collaboration with the DON and Regional team to prepare for surveys and the development and implementation of plans of correction.
- Provides assistance and support throughout the survey process including, preparation for surveys, writing a plan of correction and developing action plans, and monitoring for compliance.
- Create and submit reports to the DONs, Administrator, and Regional team outlining concerns and plans of action to ensure the highest level of care.
You Currently:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of DON or equivalent leadership role experience with a proven track record of clinical improvement and success.
- Must possess a valid RN license in Oregon and Washington. Will consider candidates that possess one of the two required state RN licenses and can obtain the second.
- Experience in a Regional/Corporate role preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to remain positive and respectful in a fast pace/high-stress environment.
- Prior clinical experience developing, implementing, and monitoring systems that ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence within a skilled nursing setting.
- Extensive understanding of federal and state guidelines governing the operation of a Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Extensive travel based on home office location or willingness to relocate is a plus.
