Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller/CEO to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic financial initiatives. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both hands-on accounting and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Coordinate audits and work with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Partner with leadership on strategic financial planning and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred or required—customize as needed)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Leadership experience or desire to grow into a leadership role
