Oregon Steel Fabrication is seeking an experienced Field Welder / Installer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for installing and welding a variety of fabricated steel products including stairs, handrails, guardrails, trash enclosures, awnings, canopies, structural supports, and other miscellaneous steel components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, self-motivated, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work in the field.
This position requires flexibility between field and shop operations. When field installation work is unavailable, employees will be assigned to assist the team in the fabrication shop and will report directly to the Shop Foreman.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and field weld miscellaneous steel products including stairs, railings, awnings, canopies, trash enclosures, and structural steel components.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Perform field measurements and verify installation requirements.
- Operate equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and jobsite.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, customers, and fellow crew members.
- Travel to job sites throughout Oregon as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in steel installation, field welding, ironwork, or a related construction trade.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in field welding and steel installation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Welding certifications are a plus.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, forklift, aerial lift, or rigging certifications are a plus.
