Job Summary
The Human Development & Family Sciences Program, at OSU -Cascades in Bend, Oregon, invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025-2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs
Applications will be considered throughout the 2025/2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026, as opportunities become available.
This position is located in Bend, Oregon.
The intention of this pool is to collect applications for current or future opportunities and does not necessarily imply a position is available at this time. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Senior Associate Dean.
Instructors may be needed to teach on campus undergraduate courses in the following areas: Human Development, Family Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Human Services.
The primary mission of the Human Development & Family Sciences Program at OSU -Cascades is to provide undergraduate level education with a curriculum that encompasses most standard fields of the discipline. This position is designed to foster critical thinking, advance student’s knowledge and skills through the teaching of various discipline/courses. The incumbent(s) are expected to provide an intellectual foundation for students concerning the discipline. The courses serve students in degree programs.

Key Responsibilities
95% – Administer and teach course(s) term-by-term in one or more of these disciplines:
- Psychology, Early Childhood, Human Development & Family Science ( HDFS )
- Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
- Advise students, be available for office hours, complete record-keeping and minor administrative tasks.
- Master’s degree or higher in Human Development & Family Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Early Childhood Education, Gerontology, or closely related discipline appropriate to the field of the teaching/instructional tasks,
- Master’s degree in any field and at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in family- or child-serving organizations, including roles involving program coordination, community engagement, training, or education appropriate to the field of the teaching/instructional tasks.
What We Would Like You To Have
- PhD or terminal degree in one of the fields listed (or a related field).
- Teaching experience at the college or university level, a strong commitment to undergraduate education and equity, service to students.
