Primary Duties

• Monitor the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, physicians, buildings, equipment, and other Legacy Health property.
• Provide courteous assistance and serve as an informational resource.
• Guard or observe designated areas and, when assigned, observe behavioral-health patients or staff a security desk.
• Operate enhanced security-screening stations using X-ray scanners, walk-through metal detectors, handheld detectors, and searches when required.
• Maintain awareness, communicate clearly, use applicable computer systems, and prepare accurate reports.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer-service, verbal communication, written communication, computer, and keyboard skills.
• Ability to manage busy screening or queue areas while remaining attentive to surroundings.
• Corrections, military, first-responder, behavioral-health, emergency-department, security, or customer-service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance requirements are preferred.
  
  

Certification Requirements

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification within 14 days of placement.
• Oregon DPSST temporary or current Unarmed Professional certification within 14 days of placement.
• Full DPSST Unarmed Professional certification within 120 days.
• Legacy-approved de-escalation certification within 120 days, followed by required recertification.
  
  

Shift Differentials

• Evenings: $2.50 per hour
• Nights: $4.30 per hour
• Weekends: $3.00 per hour
