Job Summary:
The Oregon School District is looking for a Weekend Custodian to support the buildings within the district.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs building security inspections and checks operating status of equipment, such as boilers, building circulation pumps, water softeners, and heaters, kitchen freezers and coolers.
- Cleans designated building spaces, outdoor facilities or equipment as directed.
- Responsible to open and secure the building(s) before and after events, activities or programs.
- Set up for weekend building events
- Shovel sidewalks and door entrances as needed before events.
- Other similar duties as assigned.
Education:
A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
Work Experience:
- Prior experience as a custodian, doing cleaning or other heavy work is desired, but not required.
- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and use of power and hand tools is desired, but not a requirement.
- Must be organized and able to work on a schedule.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be flexible and able to respond to changing priorities, new job assignments and interruptions.
Physical / Cognitive Requirements:
- Must be able to stand/sit for prolonged periods with or without back support.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical work, frequently lifting or moving more than 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively; ask or respond to questions and provide information or assistance.
- Must be able to follow safety practices at all times.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.73 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
