Internship Summary
The Maynard E. Orme Internship is a paid internship role at OPB. The chosen candidate serves a 10 week term, full-time, during the Spring academic term as a Production Assistant. This role is only open to current University of Oregon, School of Journalism and Communication students OR recent graduates of the program (graduates of the Fall 2024 semester or more recent).
What You'll Do
Work Conditions
Most work is done in office, studio or other indoor location. The work may require travel to remote locations, working evening, weekends and/or starting the work day early, and possibly working in inclement weather. Moving equipment up to 20 pounds is sometimes required. Extended periods of sitting or standing may be necessary.
Eligibility
- This internship is only open to current students OR recent graduates of the University of Oregon, School of Journalism and Communication (graduation in Fall of 2024 or later).
- An academic transcript is required as part of the application materials.
Additional Information
- This position reports to the Breaking News Editor.
- The pay rate for this nonexempt position is $19.23 per hour.
- Starts: May 2026 or June 2026. Ideally on June 15th 2026 to join a cohort of interns joining us in the summer
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Duration: 10-weeks.
