Safety Coordinator Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive OHS programs and ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Coordinate new employee orientation and cover existing employees’ on-going training
- Ensure compliance with WISHA and EPA (WPS) regulations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and preventive measures.
- Maintain documentation of company’s safety procedures.
- Maintain required documentation of worker training, hazardous materials
- Conduct safety & compliance training to educate employees on job safety, health hazards, and methods of reducing and/or eliminating workplace hazards
- Coordinate monthly safety meetings
- Conduct periodic location inspections regarding housekeeping, equipment and machinery condition, environmental concerns, and all other safety related issues at locations, to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and OPC regulations
- Conduct monthly farm inspections of all operating farms.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues from recurring
- Maintain and periodically review of safety records and documentation required by the company, state and federal regulations
- Communicate with management, staff and employees to keep up to date and current regarding changes in safety regulations and programs
- Facilitate monthly safety committee meetings
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and keep records as required
- Lead efforts to continually improve processes and implement procedures that improve safety, environment, compliance and inventory management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural safety management.
- Knowledge of WISHA agricultural and general industry regulations.
- Knowledge of OSHA agricultural regulations.
- Knowledge of the Worker Protection Standard and its implementation in the field.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Driver’s license and clean driving record.
