Oregon Horse Center Show Manager Job Description-
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Equine Facility Show Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our equine facility's shows and events. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of horse shows, impeccable attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage diverse teams effectively. As the Equine Facility Show Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering successful and well-executed equine events that meet the expectations of participants, spectators, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities but not Limited to:
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and execute various equine shows, competitions, and events held at the facility.
- Develop event schedules, timelines, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, exhibitors, and participants to ensure smooth event logistics.
- Manage entry processes, entries, and participant communication.
- Manage prizes and ribbons for each event
Facility Management:
- Ensure the facility is prepared and maintained to the highest standards for each event.
- Coordinate with the facility maintenance team to ensure arenas, stables, seating areas, and other event spaces are clean and in optimal condition.
- Arrange for necessary equipment, supplies, and resources required for each event.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train event staff, including announcers, judges, stewards, and support personnel.
- Provide clear instructions and expectations to staff members and manage their performance during events.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment among the event team.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on equine industry regulations, rules, and guidelines related to shows and competitions.
- Ensure that all events are organized in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including animal welfare and safety standards.
- Dress professional involves selecting attire that is polished, appropriate, and aligned with the standards of the workplace, contributing to a professional and competent image."
Communication and Promotion:
- Effectively communicate event details, schedules, and important information to participants, vendors, and attendees.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote upcoming events through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and websites.
Logistics and Operations:
- Coordinate transportation, lodging, and stabling arrangements for participants traveling to the facility.
- Manage on-site logistics, including parking, concessions, and spectator accommodations.
- Address any unforeseen issues or emergencies that arise during events.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for each event, ensuring that expenses are kept within approved limits.
- Monitor and track financial transactions, invoices, and payments related to the events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of equine industry regulations, disciplines, and event formats.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected challenges calmly.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
