What will you do? As a Report Writer at Oregon State Hospital, you will be tasked with using software such as SAP Crystal Reports and Microsoft Visual Studio to extract data from our electronic health record and to build custom reports for our end-users. Specifically, the Report Writer works with the report writing team to identify and prioritize reports needing to be developed, participate in gathering requirements and documenting those reports, and independently works to create the queries and reports, confirm the utility of the report with the customer, and works with other stakeholders to monitor the loading of the reports and accessibility to the end-user. Minimum Requirements A bachelor's degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. OR Four years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. AND Experience using advanced statistical or quantitative analysis computer applications. Requested Skills The following are skills that we have identified as key to success in this position. Advanced Knowledge and experience with data and report writing software such as SAP Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Visual Studio, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, and Microsoft Office (especially, Excel and Access). Knowledge and experience with Structured Query Language (SQL). Ability to skillfully collaborate with multiple stakeholders, work with large and complex data sets, quickly and accurately analyze data, and prepare data visualizations and written reports for lay audiences. Working Conditions Position is designed to work 40 hours per week during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm). Schedule flexibility can be negotiated with emphasis on the business needs of the position. Position is intended to be primarily a remote work position, but in-office arrangements can be made. Work is performed with the use of computer, telephone, and other technologies; participation in meetings with co-workers and stakeholders; and emphasis on Lean methodologies. The nature of work within Data & Analysis is subject to fluctuating workloads and priorities in dealing with highly complex, sensitive and/or political issues.
