Oregon Family School is seeking a full-time High School Advisor to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.

OFS is a public virtual charter school serving students across Oregon. Our high school is built on strong relationships, individualized learning, and meaningful support for students and families. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about helping students succeed academically, genuinely enjoys working with teenagers, and values building lasting relationships with students and their families. Position Overview

High School Advisors serve as each student's primary advocate and guide throughout their high school experience. Advisors partner closely with families to develop individualized educational plans, monitor academic progress, connect students with appropriate resources, and help prepare them for life after graduation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, organization, problem-solving, and supporting high school students in achieving their goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Oregon teaching license (required)
  • Strong technology skills and ability to learn new software platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of Oregon high school graduation requirements
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team


Primary Responsibilities

Student & Family Support

  • Build strong relationships with assigned students and families.
  • Guide students in developing and carrying out individualized educational plans.
  • Monitor academic progress and identify students who may need additional support.
  • Help families select courses and curriculum that meet student needs.
  • Facilitate student goal-setting and encourage academic growth.
  • Maintain weekly communication with students and parents.
  • Hold regular office hours to provide additional academic and advising support.


Academic Advising

Maintain current knowledge of:

  • Oregon graduation requirements
  • Curriculum options
  • College, career, apprenticeship, military, and workforce pathways
  • Scholarships, NCAA eligibility, SAT/ACT, Common App, and other postsecondary planning resources
  • School policies, procedures, and technology systems


Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate student records, credit tracking, and advising documentation.
  • Submit required reports, grades, progress notes, and other documentation on time.
  • Participate in goal-setting, data collection, and continuous improvement processes.


Collaboration

  • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and other departments to support student success.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, IEP meetings, and other required trainings.


Work Location

This is a hybrid position. While many responsibilities may be completed from home, advisors regularly participate in required in-person meetings, trainings, student events, and other school activities in Bend throughout the school year. Advisors also travel twice annually to meet in person with assigned families who live outside of Central Oregon.

Preference will be given to candidates who live in Central Oregon.
