Position Description:
In cooperation with the Principal, the Dean of Students will assist in developing, implementing and maintaining school-wide academic and behavior supports in order to meet the needs of all students, staff, and parents. Will work to reduce truancy, support school safety officers, and assist administration with school improvement efforts. Serves as a resource for building staff, administrators, and parents in working with students, creating a positive school climate, and helping students develop a positive self-concept.
Licensed staff at CAIS are compensated according to the same pay scale as non-charter schools in the Oregon City School District, and are eligible to be members of the Oregon City Education Association, our local collective bargaining association.
The Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences is a charter school created in partnership between the Oregon City School District, Clackamas Community College and manufacturing companies from the Portland Metro area. CAIS exists to provide students an innovative, contextual learning environment focusing on Project Based, cross curricular learning and manufacturing technologies. In recent years we have added new Career Pathways including Media and Communications and Healthcare Sciences. The school is open to any student in grades 6-12. CAIS offers a career relevant curriculum, industry exposure, internship experience, and college certification and degree opportunities. Our graduates will enhance the regional economy by providing a highly skilled, diverse and adaptable workforce to meet the needs of industry.
Special Requirements:
1. Valid Oregon teaching or administrative license required.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of successful middle school or high school teaching experience.
3. Strong collaborative leadership skills.
4. Innovative team player interested in expanding opportunities for all students.
5. Strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
6. Familiarity with restorative practices preferred; willing to learn and implement.

This TEMPORARY full-time position is for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
