Position Summary:

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis partners closely with the CFO to lead the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions, with a focus on grants, contracts, and restricted funding. This role is responsible for providing data-driven insights, ensuring financial compliance, and supporting effective decision-making across the organization. The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis leads the design and continuous improvement of financial processes and systems, driving user-centered solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strengthen fiscal oversight. This role does not oversee transactional accounting, payroll, or procurement functions.


Essential Functions:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting components for the organization with a focus on grants and restricted funding.
  • Provide strategic guidance on budget preparation, submission, and financial management for grants and contracts including development of multi-year projections.
  • Support the development and implementation of the organization’s fiscal policies and procedures in partnership with the CFO, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and grant terms.
  • Drive the design and continuous improvement of financial processes within the ERP system (Workday), collaborating with stakeholders to develop user-centered solutions that enhance fiscal oversight, streamline operations, and support effective budget and grant management.
  • Design the cost allocation plan and oversee application, ensuring accurate distribution of expenses to funding sources.
  • Develop and recommend indirect cost allocations to executive leadership and internal stakeholders, and direct implementation of approved methodologies. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance for all grants, contracts, and restricted funds including variance analysis and forecasting updates.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to address budgetary issues and identify solutions to funding challenges.
  • Utilize financial analyses to assess grant limitations and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Lead fiscal planning meetings, providing technical expertise and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and support external and internal audits related to grants and contracts.
  • Partner with external agencies and internal teams to align fiscal processes with program goals and funding requirements.
  • Support fiscal year-end processes, including grant closeouts.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on grants management and financial compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department and organizational priorities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Preferably in accounting, finance, grant management, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a management role.
  • (or equivalent combination of education and experience)


Certifications:

  • CGMS preferred – Certified Grants Management Specialist
  • CPA preferred – Certified Public Accountant


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position services management and professional level staff.

Pay Range:

  • The pay range for this position is $97,900 to $122,400.00 annually.
  • Placement within the range is determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.

Salary : $97,900 - $122,400
