PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for leading a team of specialists that provide expertise, guidance, and support in early childhood social-emotional development to staff, children, and families. Collaborates with other content areas and Operations to ensure children’s social-emotional skills are nurtured in a safe and supportive environment. Leads the implementation of the Pyramid Model (PBIS) and provides programmatic and classroom consultation within the Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) model.


  • Lead a statewide team of Early Childhood Social-Emotional Specialists, providing guidance, reflective consultation, and coaching to strengthen trauma-informed, relationship-based practices across programs.
  • Oversee the implementation and fidelity of the Pyramid Model (PBIS), using qualitative and technical assessments to drive nurturing, developmentally supportive classroom practices.
  • Partner with Education Specialist Supervisors, Operations, and cross-functional teams to design and refine systems that elevate early childhood outcomes and strengthen social-emotional wellbeing.
  • Analyze assessment and observation data to identify trends, inform programmatic decisions, and improve child outcomes and school readiness.
  • Support continuous quality improvement by collaborating with QA teams to evaluate effectiveness, ensure compliance, and enhance statewide systems and processes.
  • Provide programmatic and classroom consultation within the IECMHC model, supporting educators, specialists, and management teams in fostering emotionally supportive learning environments.
  • Deliver training and professional development for staff across counties, ensuring alignment with Agency goals, performance standards, and local continuous quality improvement practices.
  • Partner on agency grants, technical assistance plans, and strategic initiatives; review and maintain contracts, MOUs, and agreements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee allocation of special needs funds and support onboarding/contracting of local Mental Health Consultants.
  • Collaborate with local teams and LEAs to strengthen services for children with disabilities and ensure systems meet diverse developmental needs.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in early childhood mental health or master’s degree in social work, psychology, early intervention, disabilities, special education or related field with a related Early Childhood Mental Health certification or credential. AND Minimum of 7 years work experience in the delivery of early childhood mental health services of which 2 years must be in a supervisory role.

Salary : $81,600 - $102,000
