About the Program
The BioCatalyst Program was originally created in 2014 to prepare qualified, mid-career candidates for careers in Oregon’s growing bioscience industry. Thanks to new funding through Oregon’s Future Ready Workforce Ready Grant, we are able to offer this program again at no cost to accepted participants.
This intensive training helps you build industry-recognized skills and connect directly with employers who are actively hiring in bioscience and advanced manufacturing.
Program Details
Track Offered: Advanced Manufacturing (Lean Six Sigma)
Focus: Participants learn practical Lean Six Sigma methods used in real-world manufacturing and operational environments to improve efficiency, quality, and performance.
Format: In-person full-day training sessions
Schedule (In-Person Required):
- May 7–8
- May 21–22
- June 4–5
- June 18–19
- June 29–30
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Who Should Apply
We encourage applications from:
- Oregon residents who are unemployed or underemployed
- Mid-career professionals with prior work experience (no recent graduates)
- Individuals with a high school diploma or GED (some related industry experience helpful but not required)
- People ready to transition into high-demand roles in bioscience or advanced manufacturing
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
- Upward progression and long-term commitment in prior roles.
- Relevance of prior roles to bioscience functions such as engineering, IT, quality, documentation, manufacturing, or facilities.
