Summary
Responsible for driving and executing loss prevention initiatives and physical security measures within their assigned area. This involves conducting routine site assessments, identifying deficiencies, and working with various departments to recommend and implement solutions.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee loss prevention programs for external/internal theft in assigned areas.
- Initiate and conduct internal and external investigations as it relates to theft, fraud, or other violations of company policy.
- Analyze loss prevention metrics and investigate losses; determine causes and actively participate in initiatives to resolve and correct location level issues.
- Perform loss prevention audits.
- Report audit results and make recommendations to the Sr. Manager of Loss Prevention and operations management.
- Utilize audit results within area of responsibility to focus training efforts to improve loss and safety results and increase compliance to company policies.
- Monitor redemption center compliance with established loss prevention policies and procedures through various reporting vehicles.
- Identify and resolve training or integrity issues.
- Serve as first point of contact for loss prevention related needs for assigned area.
- Assist with building security controls and equipment, including BEST core systems, safes, access control, and alarm systems.
- Train and coach redemption center and plant supervisors and employees on best practices concerning physical security, critical incidents, theft deterrence and safety awareness.
- Conduct de-escalation training for OBRC employees and maintain training records.
- Supervise Security Engagement Specialists (uniform security), develop schedules and assignments, conduct training and coaching and audit performance.
- Adhere to proper PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, hand protection, hi-visibility vest/jacket) usage in designated areas of RC and when working outdoors.
- Adhere to all OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies.
- Perform all roles of Security Engagement Specialist.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years’ experience in retail Loss Prevention or equivalent Law Enforcement/Security.
- Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
- W-Z certification is preferred.
Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities
- Interview and interrogation experience.
- Experience with driving successful loss prevention, shortage control, accident reduction and fraud prevention programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build rapport at all levels with both internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner.
- Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to perform cooperative and inclusive work with internal departments as well as retail partners.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high degree of productivity.
- Proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to effectively manage people, plan and delegate workload, and manage employee performance.
- Experience with coaching and mentoring direct reports and assisting with conflict resolution.
- A current driver's license and acceptable driving history is required.

Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
- Regular day travel and occasional overnight travel within state using company vehicles.
- Infrequent overnight travel outside of the state for training opportunities.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Perform work in an indoor professional office environment.
- May also work outside in all temperatures/conditions.
- Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
- Use standard office equipment and supplies.
- Sit/stand for continuous periods of time at a desk and work on a computer, walk as needed.
- Sit in a vehicle for extended periods when traveling between job sites.
- Use arms, wrists, hands and fingers to reach, grasp objects, use tools, and for writing and keyboarding.
- Read, write, and speak to communicate effectively with others.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
