The American Association is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Intern to support our growing communications and social media efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional, mission-driven environment while building a strong marketing portfolio.
About the Role
As our Marketing Intern, you will play a key role in helping us set up, expand and refine our digital presence. You’ll support the development of a more consistent and strategic approach to social media - particularly on Facebook and Instagram - ensuring our content remains polished, engaging, and appropriate for our audience.
This role is ideal for a college student looking to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while earning academic credit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, developing and implementing a social media strategy across Facebook and Instagram
- Create a monthly content calendar and ensure platforms remain active and up to date
- Design graphics and marketing materials using Canva or Adobe tools
- Support production and distribution of newsletters through Constant Contact
- Draft copy for posts, emails, and general marketing initiatives
- Help maintain brand consistency across all communication channels
- Collaborate with the team on new campaign ideas and outreach opportunities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
- Strong understanding of social media best practices
- Good writing and editing skills
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and convey ideas clearly
