The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the school setting is responsible for evaluating students, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapy services in accordance with physician’s orders and district guidelines. The SLP will collaborate with teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team to support student communication and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and assessments.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs).
Provide direct therapy services to students in SPED classrooms.
Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and clinical staff to support student progress.
Monitor and report on student outcomes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Active California Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
Current CPR certification.
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Compensation
Local Pay Rate: $85/hour (negotiable)
Travel Weekly Pay: $4,000.60
