Required Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish – required
OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification – required
Rigging and Flagging training/certification – required
CPR certification – required
Previous construction safety experience preferred
Experience working around reinforcing steel/rebar operations is a plus
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently in an active construction environment
Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily field safety inspections and jobsite observations
Ensure employees follow Orco Steel safety policies and procedures
Conduct and assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training
Monitor safe work practices involving rebar placing, material handling, rigging, and lifting operations
Identify hazards and work with field supervision to implement corrective actions
Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
Verify proper use of PPE and required safety equipment
Monitor rigging, signaling, and material-handling activities
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
Maintain accurate safety documentation and inspection records
Communicate safety requirements effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking employees
Support Orco Steel's overall safety program and help promote a strong safety culture

We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working directly with field crews. The successful candidate will be able to recognize hazards before they become incidents, communicate expectations clearly, and work with supervisors and employees to correct unsafe conditions.
Construction field safety experience is strongly preferred.
