Reports To: Building Principal
Pay Grade: Grade 3, Step 1, $16.68 per hour
Schedule: 5.9 hours per day / 5 days per week / 29.5 hours per week
Job Summary: Responsible for working as a team member in providing a quality educational programming for students. Will provide support for K-6 students identified for behavior or social/emotional support as directed by the principal, the Supervisor of Student Support Systems, or counselor.
Requirements:
- Minium of 60 college credit hours
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with elementary school age youth
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to different instructional environments including in-person 1:1 and independent small group
- Experience with student behavioral support interventions
- Familiarity with instructional technology
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide in-classroom behavioral support for K-6 students under the direct supervision of the students’ general education certified teacher(s)
- Provide outside-classroom behavioral support for K-6 students as specified in students’ behavior intervention plan and under the direct supervision of the students’ general education certified teacher(s) using
- Implement district approved resources to support social-emotional learning strategies (e.g., Positive Behavior intervention plans, Restorative Practices) for K-6 students as directed by principals, Supervisor of Student Support Systems, or counselor
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students, schools, teachers and classrooms
- Assist classroom teachers with the administration of district and state assessments
- Observe, document, and communicate student progress as requested
- Attend staff data meetings, professional learning, or training as requested
- Complete required activity logs and/or other documentation as required
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned and allowable under state or federal grant as applicable
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.
Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
