Job Type: Full-Time—evening and weekend hours required –11:30 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. (weekdays) and 8:30 a.m.-12:30 pm (Saturdays). 5 day work week alternating weekends.

About the Program:
The Community Service Learning program provides intensive programming to support youth who have violated probation terms or are at risk of adjudication. This program acts as a detention alternative, offering structured after-school services, including intensive tracking, monitoring, supervision, community service, group sessions, and accountability self-evaluations. Staff collaborate with youth, families, and referring workers to address individual service needs and connect participants to appropriate resources.

Staff collaborate with youth, families, and referring workers to address individual service needs and connect participants to appropriate resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the philosophy, values, commitments, and practices of the Sanctuary Model in daily client interactions.
- Actively support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion while respecting individual differences.
- Facilitate group sessions with youth using prescribed curriculum.
- Organize community worksites in collaboration with nonprofit agencies and private residents.
- Supervise and assist 5-8 youth in structured community service work environments.
- Transport clients to community service sites in an agency van (valid Iowa driver’s license required; motor vehicle record must meet agency guidelines).
- Maintain regular contact with Juvenile Court, families, and other relevant parties, acting as a liaison.
- Provide knowledge of community resources and referrals to connect youth and families to necessary services.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and trainings.
- Maintain accurate client files and records in accordance with program and funding source requirements.
- Foster professional relationships and maintain appropriate role boundaries with clients and staff.
- Contribute actively to the program team and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must currently possess a Bachelors Degree in a Human Services or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties effectively.
- Commitment to supporting at-risk youth and aligning with program values.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A valid Iowa driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Willingness to undergo training and uphold professional standards.
